Last Monday, attendees at the AI WIPS conference learned what happens when AI stops responding to prompts and starts acting on behalf of humans. Thank you to everyone who joined the OECD.AI session on the rise of agentic AI at AI-WIPS 2026. The strong participation and discussion reflected just how quickly this topic is moving from research to real-world deployment across workplaces and institutions. Moderated by Sara Rendtorff-Smith, the session brought together leading perspectives from policy, research, industry and labour to explore how agentic systems are beginning to set goals, make decisions and act with increasing autonomy, and what this means for productivity, trust and the future of work. ๐—” ๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—ฎ๐—น ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ธ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ ๐˜€๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ธ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€: Francesca Rossi (IBM), Olfa Kharrat (Salesforce), Vincent Corruble (Sorbonne University), Wan Sie LEE (IMDA Singapore), Rosie Hood, PhD (LinkedIn) and Evelyn Astor (ITUC) for a rich and forward-looking exchange. We were especially pleased to open the session with a live demonstration from Salesforce, showing how agentic AI is already moving from concept to practice. ๐—”๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ธ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐—ถ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐˜๐˜€ ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜€๐˜€ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—”๐—œ-๐—ช๐—œ๐—ฃ๐—ฆ ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—บ๐—บ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ถ๐˜๐˜† for helping make this yearโ€™s conference such a success. #AIWIPS #FutureOfWork #AIpolicy #OECDAI #Productivity #Skills #AgenticAI
