If you were building a startup in LATAM today, which country would you pick? Most people default to Brazil (biggest market) or Mexico (nearshoring). But the answer depends entirely on your vertical. Here's what the data shows: Fintech: Mexico leads. The second-largest unbanked population in the hemisphere, regulatory clarity through the Fintech Law of 2018, and 60M adults without a bank account. Brazil is close second with PIX adoption exceeding 150M users. Deep Tech / Hardware: Chile and Uruguay. Chile offers R&D tax credits covering up to 35% of qualified expenses. Uruguay has the highest internet penetration in LATAM (88%) and a tech-worker visa that processes in 10 days. AgriTech: Colombia and Argentina. Colombia has 39M hectares of arable land, 70% unused. Argentina's Pampa Humeda is among the most productive agricultural regions globally, and its developer community has deep experience in precision agriculture. HealthTech: Brazil dominates with SUS (the universal healthcare system) serving 150M+ people, creating massive distribution potential for any solution that integrates with public infrastructure. Climate / Energy: Chile again. The Atacama Desert has the highest solar irradiance on the planet, and the country committed to 70% renewable energy by 2030. The ecosystem spans twenty countries, each with distinct advantages. The founders who succeed are the ones who match their company to the right geography. We mapped these dynamics in our ecosystem report. Link in the first comment. #LATAM #Startups #Ecosystem #VentureCapital #EmergingMarkets
