Today, April 17, is World Haemophilia Day. Carl has spent his life exploring the outdoors — as an environmental scientist, firefighter, and now a father — all while living with haemophilia A. Diagnosed as a baby in 1993, he grew up alongside major advances in care, from safer plasma therapies to recombinant factor VIII. “It’s night and day compared to the early ‘90s,” he says.
