𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲. In VWD, the need is well understood. Bleeding risk shifts across life stages, procedures, and the in-between decisions that don’t make it into protocols. Yet, the standards meant to guide care remain largely static - built for moments, not for movement. Closing that gap happens when hard questions are asked and addressed:   • Why does variability in VWD care still persist?   • Why is evidence not consistently translating into practice?   • Why is VWD treated as isolated bleeding events, and not managed proactively like in Hemophilia? This week, the third Rethink VWD Symposium brings together healthcare professionals and advocates to work through these questions and define what equitable, proactive, and specific standards of care look like in VWD.
