📢 Special Publication Release 🆕 "Ocean Prediction: Present Status and State of the Art" - Current Capabilities and Emerging Frontiers in Ocean Forecasting We’re excited to share the release of a comprehensive special issue featuring 26 peer-reviewed papers authored by leading experts from around the world, a major milestone that reflects the scale and depth of today’s ocean forecasting community. Published in the State of the Planet Journal of Copernicus Publications, the special issue offers a global snapshot of the current capabilities, challenges, and innovations in ocean prediction, a critical tool supporting decision-making across key sectors such as marine safety, coastal zone management, and disaster risk reduction. It was developed by the Ocean Forecasting Co-Design Team within the OceanPrediction Decade Collaborative Centre, in collaboration with UN Ocean Decade Programmes: 🔻 OceanPredict /ForeSea 🔻 OceanPractices/ Ocean Best Practices System 🔻 DITTO (Digital Twins of the Ocean) 💡 The compilation also explores cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence and cloud computing, showing how these are shaping the future of ocean science.
