The paper examines the lack of policy consideration for synthetic biological data under legislation such as the DPDPA and the BioE3 framework. As a result, innovation and trust in the process may be undermined. It concludes that incorporating synthetic biological data into #India’s legal framework can enhance privacy and spur further innovation in biotechnology.
