The Strait of Hormuz, Bab al-Mandab, and the Suez Canal are the arteries of the global energy system, moving oil and LNG out of the Gulf and refined products and equipment back in. When one of them is disrupted, markets feel it. When all three are under strain simultaneously, the consequences ripple across every economy on the planet. Observer Research Foundation Middle East, in partnership with TheECSSR, is hosting an online panel discussion “Vulnerabilities in West Asia’s Maritime Chokepoints: Hormuz, Bab al-Mandab, and the Suez Canal” on Thursday, April 24th. The discussion will bring together a panel of experts to examine what these disruptions - from tensions in Hormuz to insecurity in the Red Sea and Suez - actually mean for energy flows, pricing, and supply chain resilience.
