Student financiën en verzekeringen aan HoGent
Last week, we had the opportunity to go on a study trip to London. As a Finance & Insurance student, this experience was a valuable addition to my practical knowledge. Throughout the week, we gained insight into the many dimensions of the insurance industry across different sectors and levels. From maritime specialisation to cyber risk and the impact of changing economic conditions, we saw firsthand how dynamic and multifaceted the industry truly is. We had the privilege of visiting organizations such as Aon, AXIS (AXIS Capital), RICS, Steamship Mutual, Lloyd's, LBMA, CFC, Travelers, International Oil Pollution Compensation Funds (IOPC Funds) and the International Maritime Organization This was a unique opportunity, made possible by our lecturers in close collaboration with these institutions. I am grateful for the insights and the broader perspective on how global insurance and risk management operate in practice. A special thank you to our lecturers for organizing and enabling this opportunity johan verhaeghe, Kris Van den Steen, Ineke De Vleeschouwer, Veerle Coppens and Jan Van Doorslaer from HOGENT. Additionally, a heartfelt thank you to Sofie Temmerman from BDB Europe SRL and Mithras Underwriting Europe for her efforts in connecting us with some of these industry leaders.
