What happens when a darkroom hits the road? 📷 Professional photographers Wiesje Peels and Reinout van den Bergh refused to leave their craft behind. Their first attempt at building a mobile darkroom turned out to be too unstable for longer journeys, so they kept searching for a better solution. That search led them to NÜWIEL at the International Cargo Bike Festival. We at NÜWIEL believe technology should empower creative people just as much as it supports commercial applications. Together, we developed a new approach: using our eTrailer as the foundation, Wiesje and Reinout, supported by a team of builders, created a custom mobile darkroom. A travelling photography studio on two wheels. In April, it was time for the first real test. 📍 Breda → Aalst 📦 270 kg payload 🛣️ 225 km by bike The eTrailer carried the weight quietly in the background, allowing them to focus the journey instead of the load. No stress, no heavy pulling, no wobbly riding. Even in dense city traffic, 270 kilograms felt completely weightless. The result? Pure joy. This project shows what's possible when the art meets smart technology. Long distances become accessible, and culture becomes truly mobile. The road ahead is wide open. 🌍
