Congratulations to Lin Jiasheng ’25, Nur Namirah Binte Abdul Rahim ’25, Jeremy Lok ’26 and Bryan Liow ’26, who emerged as first runner-up at the 25th International Maritime Law Arbitration Moot (IMLAM) competition. Lin Jiasheng ’25 was also crowned as the Best Speaker in the General Rounds. Held in July in Sydney, the dispute revolved around a cargo claim arising from the carriage of a cargo of soya beans and required consideration of the Inter-Club New York Produce Exchange Agreement. The team presented their case before an experienced panel of judges renowned for their expertise in maritime law: the Honourable Andrew Bell (Chief Justice of New South Wales), Justice Sarah C Derrington (Federal Court of Australia) and Mr Gregory Nell SC (New Chambers). The team would like to thank their coaches, Dedi Affandi bin Ahmad ’10, Wu Muyu ’22 and Wong Weitao ’22, as well as various faculty members, alumni and friends for their support.
