After a year of preparation, fundraising, hard work, and plenty of laughter, we are incredibly proud to share a milestone from CheSS Project Cheway 2024/2025. On March 18th,Our YEP leaders — Chesley Teng (Project Director), Shawn Tay (Vice Project Director, Operations & Safety), and Abenaya C. (Vice Project Director, Fundraising & Publicity) — were honoured to receive the YMCA Lim Kim San Volunteer Empowerment Award today at the YMCA Auditorium. This journey brought us to Siem Reap, Cambodia, where we partnered with the Boys’ Brigade Learning Centre, Ms Sok Eng (Principle) and YMCA Singapore, Joel Ang (Advisor). Together, we conducted lessons for young students on first aid, hygiene, and financial literacy, while also supporting teachers with digital literacy and AI skills. We also contributed to improving sanitation in Puok village by building toilets, helping to create a safer and healthier environment for the community. Leading a team of 14 members over two weeks (18 May to 1 June 2025), this experience has been both humbling and meaningful. Grateful for the opportunity to serve, grow, and make a small but lasting impact. #CheSSProjectCheway #YEP #Volunteerism #YouthLeadership #CommunityImpact #Cambodia
