Last week, the NurtureFirst team came together in Nairobi for our quarterly retreat, a valuable moment to reconnect and reflect. It was especially meaningful to welcome and spend time with our newest team members, Persis M. Ashers (Director of Operations & Chief of Staff) and Annastacia Kumola (Head of Programs). We were also honored to be joined by Melizsa Mugyenyi and Dennis Nyakundi from Echidna Giving, who had the opportunity to connect with the team and learn more about the different aspects of our work. Beyond connection, the retreat created space for deep strategic thinking. We explored what NurtureFirst’s legacy could look like 20 years from now, and what it will take to get there. A clear theme emerged: a strong, shared commitment to our mission, and the power of our team’s diverse strengths to work towards building systems that enable Home-Based Childcare Providers, and the children in their care, to thrive, in Kenya and beyond✨ Dr Gacheri (Frida) Njogu-Ndongwe Persis M.
