Thirteen years ago, we started with the simple conviction that financial services should be better. Our founder, David Vélez, spent months trying to open a bank account in Brazil and became frustrated by the bureaucracy that weighed down a process that should have been simple. What most people saw as just a hassle, he saw as an opportunity. In May 2013, he founded Nubank alongside co-founders Cristina Junqueira and Edward Wible with a mission to remove complexity and give people back control over their financial lives. Today, over 135 million customers have chosen to take this journey with us. It's a history shaped by clear values and a culture that has allowed the company to keep growing and evolving. In just over a decade, we've helped 37 million people enter the formal financial system, and more than 28 million got their first credit card with us. Millions were Behind those numbers are stories of customers across the region who finally gained access to a world that once felt out of reach. Planning for a dream stopped being a distant idea and became a reality for the people who believe in our mission. Thirteen years in, we're still on day one of what we want to build.
