This #WorldIPDay, we look at research born in #NTUsg that is being translated into real-world applications through the University's vibrant Innovation and Entrepreneurship ecosystem. ExoArc is a coin-sized chip that can isolate blood plasma in 30 minutes. Developed by biotech firm ArcVance, the device is far faster and more convenient than the current gold-standard, multi-step centrifugation process. NTU scientists validated the chip with clinician-scientists from National Cancer Centre Singapore, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, and A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research), who used the purified blood plasma to diagnose non-small cell lung cancer with high accuracy by analysing the microRNA from both healthy individuals and cancer patients. NTU’s innovation and enterprise company, NTUitive, has filed patents for ExoArc, which is backed by the NTUitive Gap Fund. #NTUsgInnovation #NTUsgResearch #WorldIntellectualPropertyDay
