How much of the universe have we truly uncovered and what remains unknown? Behind many of these discoveries is the work of Thomas H. Zurbuchen, former Associate Administrator of the Science Mission Directorate at NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration, who led one of the world’s largest scientific portfolios – overseeing missions that study our planet, our solar system, and the universe beyond. Under his leadership, some of the most ambitious space missions in history became reality, including the launch of the #JamesWebbSpaceTelescope and major milestones in Mars exploration, from the Perseverance rover landing to the first controlled flight on another planet with the Ingenuity helicopter. From uncovering how galaxies form, to understanding Earth’s changing climate, to exploring whether life could exist elsewhere, his work has shaped some of the most important scientific breakthroughs of our time. Now, he brings these insights to Singapore through an engaging session hosted by #NTUsg, titled "Looking for Life: The Drake Equation", where he will shed light on how scientists estimate the chances of life beyond Earth.
