SBS CAREER WEEK PART 6 (FINALE) On the 19th of January, we had our final sharing of the week, “Senior sharing on exchange programs”. It was an entertaining and fruitful discussion and hope our attendees learnt more about exchange programs through this session! Dr Peter Cheung started off the sharing with information about course matching, the different types of exchange programs that SBS students can go on, among other topics. He elaborated on the role he plays in the exchange application process, and what students need to take note of when choosing a university for exchange. Second, Gilia Seo gave a very transparent sharing about the preparation, concerns and considerations she had before embarking on her exchange journey. She helped answer very salient questions about safety, finances and the right mindset to have for a fruitful exchange experience. Third, Chen Yen Leow kindly documented her experience via zoom while in Germany and gave us many interesting insights and tips on studying as the only Singaporean on the Life Science campus. She elaborated on her travels during her 2 week long vacation and shared advice on coping with loneliness. Last and certainly not least, Yook Kit Ow Yeong took to the stage and gave a humourous presentation on his semester exchange to Australia. From almost losing his luggage twice to forging strong bonds with his house mates, his experience was all in all a fulfilling one. Finally, he touched our hearts with a quote by Thomas Jefferson, “If you want something you’ve never had, you must be willing to do something you’ve never done.” We have now come to the end of SBS CAREER WEEK 2023! Thank you to the speakers and attendees for making this a successful one! Enjoy your long weekend and Happy Chinese New Year❤️!
