Last week, we were thrilled to welcome back three of our very own SBS alumni, Kimberly Toh Lai Ling, YingRu Loh and Jonathan Gan who now work at Promega to share with us about their roles and career progression from academia to industry! Lai Ling started off the sharing with a brief introduction about what Promega does and it’s company culture. She also shared more about her life in Promega as a Senior Technical Sales Specialist and how she provides consultative and innovative solutions based on customer needs. Next, Jonathan talked about his role as a Technical Services Scientist and how his background in research aids in his daily tasks at Promega. He also talked about opportunities to meet and ideate with technical services scientists worldwide to pitch solutions for complicated cases by using Promega products. Last but not least, we had Ying Ru who shared about her role as a Marketing Services Specialist and the kind of initiatives she was a part of. She helped us understand what life at Promega was like, and the various activities that they take part in as a branch. Promega kindly prepared complimentary refreshments for all our attendees as well☺️! Thank you so much for taking the time to come down to share with our students and answering our questions!
