“My identity is very important to me. It tells me where I come from, where I am and where I'm going” - Uncle Dean Kelly. NAIDOC Week is a time to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. In our own department, cultural knowledge and connection to Country strengthens the work we deliver. We’re proud to respect and embed Aboriginal knowledge and partner with Traditional Owners and Aboriginal custodians to care for and manage our thriving environments across NSW.  This NAIDOC Week we’re celebrating 50 Years of Deadly. We encourage you to participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth 🖤💛❤️ 🎥 Special thanks to Uncle Dean Kelly (Wailwan and Yuin), Dr Vanessa Cavanagh (Bundjalung and Wonnarua), Layla Cattell (Awabakal) and Manuel Fardoulis (Wiradjuri and Dharawal).
