NSW Ports is proud to partner with Port Authority of New South Wales and Port of Newcastle in supporting the Seafarer Welfare Fund, which has reached a $1.5 million milestone in its third year. Announced at the annual The Mission to Seafarers - Sydney Parliamentary Lunch on Friday, this year’s funding will support seven charities and not-for-profits delivering frontline services for seafarers visiting New South Wales ports — including access to communication services, transport, wellbeing support and pastoral care. NSW Ports CEO Marika Calfas said supply chains rely on the essential contribution of seafarers, who keep goods moving across the world.   “In recognition of their role, we partner with organisations who make a difference to the wellbeing of seafarers when they arrive in port. These frontline teams and volunteers provide practical help and a sense of connection for seafarers who may have spent months at sea.” Congratulations to this year’s recipients: Mission to Seafarers Port Kembla, The Mission to Seafarers - Sydney, Apostleship of the Sea Sydney (Stella Maris, Australia), Tas Bull Seafarers Foundation, Mission to Seafarers Eden, Hunter Workers Rehabilitation and Counselling Service, and Mission to Seafarers Newcastle.”   #SeafarerWelfare #NSWPorts #Ports #Maritime #SupplyChain #Community
