Thanks to this local re-use project, Jake was able to fill his new social housing unit entirely with preloved furniture and whitegoods. This is the circular economy in action. And thanks to our funding, the Inner West Council and The Bower will continue to grow this program. Council will pilot an AI tool that will assess items for council pickup - to see if they can be cleaned, repaired and delivered to people in need. This is just one of many initiatives delivered under the Local Government Waste Solutions Fund. Since 2023, these grants have supported 34 council-led projects across NSW that promote innovative solutions to the waste crisis.
