We’ve identified the coastal waterway with the lowest microplastic levels in NSW - and it’s the stunning Myall Lake on the Mid North Coast. This finding comes from Australia’s first large-scale microplastic study, which assessed 120 coastal waterways across NSW. The aim: to better understand where microplastics are present and where targeted action is needed most. The lowest levels were found in minimally disturbed catchments across the Mid North Coast, Eurobodalla, and Bega regions. Myall Lake ranked lowest overall, followed by Nadgee Lake, Middle Lagoon, Myall Broadwater and Wallaga Lake. These insights will help inform future policy, strengthen regulation and track our progress in cutting plastic pollution. Read more: https://lnkd.in/dv3vNsEH MidCoast Council
