A member of the public contacted us after being exposed to spray drift from a neighbouring property. Having had prior concerns, he was prepared. After the initial shock he acted quickly - bagging his clothes as evidence and reporting the incident to us. That quick thinking made a real difference. It supported our investigation and led to a penalty notice being issued to the offender. Spray drift occurs when pesticide droplets move beyond the intended application area, and it can have serious impacts on people and the environment.
