𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗵 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗔𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 🎉 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗿 𝗧𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗼𝗿𝗵 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗮𝗻, 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 (𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁) in Singapore’s Prime Minister’s Office and Chairman of A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research, has been elected as an 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 Academy of Medical Sciences (𝗔𝗠𝗦)🏅 in the United Kingdom. First announced in February 2026, Prof Tan was admitted at a ceremony held on 30 June 2026 at the Royal Society of Medicine in London, alongside fellow Honorary Fellows Dr John Climax and Dr Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw. The AMS honoured the trio for their far-reaching contributions across clinical research, health systems leadership, and biotechnology. A renal physician by training, Prof Tan led Singapore’s public health response to the 2003 SARS outbreak as Director of Medical Services, before serving as President of the National University of Singapore (NUS) from 2008 to 2017.
