In his address, Mr Heng welcomed the diversity of talent gathered at the summit, reiterating that strengthening our talent pool was a key focus area under the latest ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฐ๐ต, ๐๐ป๐ป๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ฒ (๐ฅ๐๐) ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฏ๐ฌ ๐ฝ๐น๐ฎ๐ป. Highlighting the importance of collaboration between the brightest minds from Singapore and around the world in achieving research excellence, Mr Heng shared how NRF would be strengthening our portfolio of research grants, fellowships, and investigatorships to nurture both leading and promising local researchers as well as continue to build new links and deepen existing links among researchers in Singapore and the global scientific community. Encouraging the young researchers to take the opportunity to forge new friendships and networks transcending traditional boundaries, Mr Heng also called on them to fully immerse themselves in the exciting GYSS programme laid out for them. Over five days, the participants will engage with eminent scientists through 20 plenary lectures, four interactive panel discussions, and more than ten small-group Fireside Chats๐ฅ We look forward to bold ideas being sparked, traditional scientific assumptions being challenged and the forging of lasting bonds between our promising young scientists!
