As an early summer heat wave hit Korea, Novelis employees in Seoul partnered with Seoul Briquette Bank. The organization is a nonprofit that traditionally provides fuel briquettes, which are compacted blocks of coal or biomass used for home heating and cooking in older residences, along with other essential support to assist some of the community’s most vulnerable seniors. Together, they served meals to approximately 60 veterans and senior citizens and delivered 75 electric fans to elderly residents at heightened risk of heat-related illness.
