At only 12 weeks old, Wonder was admitted to a hospital in Ghana with life-threatening malaria. Until recently, there were no medicines designed for babies his weight. Wonder was one of the first babies treated with a new antimalarial for newborns and young infants under 5kg. Soon, more babies like Wonder may be able to receive appropriate care, as the World Health Organization today has prequalified this product, taking another essential step toward enabling greater access across regions endemic with malaria in Africa.
