What does sustainable manufacturing look like in action? MBA and EMBA students from London Business School experienced it firsthand during their visit to our Tuas manufacturing site, our second engagement with the school in Singapore. Their visit focused on how Novartis Singapore is advancing sustainable manufacturing as part of our commitment to achieve net zero ambition by 2030 – reflecting the strong priority we place on climate action. Our Site Head, Prakash Sambasivan, together with leaders from our Manufacturing and Commercial teams, highlighted how sustainability is more than a target for us – it is a mindset we are embedding across the organization. From our environmental roadmap to cross-functional initiatives delivering measurable outcomes, this shift is already evident with our Tuas site operating fully carbon-neutral since last year. The students then toured the site to see the technical foundation of our sustainability efforts, including our solar farm, cogeneration plant, and central utility building. Together, these systems enable resilient and resource-efficient operations powered by clean energy. We also explored how progress extends beyond our own operations. The students learned about our partnerships with external stakeholders and fellow Singapore Biopharmaceutical Manufacturers Advisory Council (BMAC) member companies, as well as initiatives like our Commercial team’s transition from printed product leaflets to QR-enabled digital information. It was energizing to exchange perspectives across industries and nationalities. These conversations reinforced a clear message: achieving net zero requires both internal transformation and collective action across the ecosystem. We’re proud to contribute to that momentum.
