We recently brought together partners from the Breast Cancer Foundation and Singapore Cancer Society to explore Singapore’s breast cancer landscape through the Breast Cancer Care Quality Index (BCCQI), based on World Health Organisation parameters. The goal was simple: to better understand whether how we measure care truly reflects what patients experience. One insight stood out: strong system performance may not always translate into care that is easy for patients to navigate. Patient journeys span awareness, diagnosis, treatment, support, and follow-up. At each stage, patient experience depends on how well these parts come together. The discussion surfaced three key considerations: • Measurement vs lived experience • Excellence vs patient experience • National performance vs individual journeys Addressing these requires more than metrics. It calls for shared understanding across stakeholders, grounded in the realities that patients face every day. This is an ongoing conversation, and an important step towards aligning how we define and deliver quality care. Thank you BCF and SCS for bringing the patient voice into this discussion. #BreastCancer #Partnerships #CancerCare
