♻️ Recycling is much more than waste management. It is a core pillar of #Defossilisation, industrial transformation and the #CircularEconomy! Alongside biomass and CCU, recycling is key. Therefore, those three renewable feedstock sources should always be considered together. 🏭 🧪 Both mechanical and advanced recycling technologies will be needed to enable the full recovery and re-use of plastics, as well as the breakdown of plastics into monomers as building blocks for virgin-grade materials and chemicals. While #MechanicalRecycling, e.g. of PET or PLA, remains essential for keeping high-quality material streams in use, #AdvancedRecycling can help address more complex, mixed or contaminated streams and bring carbon back into the loop. Beyond the application of innovative recycling technologies, #Automation and digitalisation will be key catalysts for scaling recycling and enabling a #SustainableCarbonEconomy. 📆 📌 At the Renewable Materials Conference 2026 (#2026RM), taking place in Siegburg near Cologne, Germany, from 22 to 25 September, a dedicated session with four relevant presentations will put the spotlight on #Recycling as an important renewable carbon source alongside #Biomass and #CCU. 💬 The speakers will be: Delphine Largeteau, Schneider Electric Oliver Borek, Entzimatiko Andreas Sommerfeldt, Danish Technological Institute EU (Ulphard) Thoden van Velzen, Wageningen University & Research ❗ Also worth noting: the workshop at 11:20 on Day 3 of the conference, where Chiara Bearzotti from European Bioplastics will touch on the circularity and recycling of bio-based products. 👉 Find the full RMC programme and further sessions here: https://lnkd.in/eyTc2zRQ 👉 Register here and join the discussion — a 10% early-bird discount is still available: https://lnkd.in/dEsYCTT #ChemicalRecycling #RenewableCarbon #CircularCarbon #SustainableCarbon #FossilFree #WasteManagement Left picture from Magnific.com
