Two years—and I still can’t fully explain what this role did to me. When I joined the admissions team at Ain Shams University, Faculty of Al-Alsun, I thought it was just a job: helping students, reviewing applications, making decisions. Simple. Then I met my first student. We had a conversation—a story. A kid who had probably dreamed for a long time about that day. That’s when it stopped being just a job. The pressure of reviewing hundreds of applications was nothing compared to knowing you helped someone see their dream come true. I’d look at the team around me—people who never once treated an application like mere paperwork—and somehow, that made it all feel possible. I didn’t manage them. I learned from them. To every student we welcomed into Al-Alsun, I hope it gives you everything you came for. To my team: thank you for reminding me why this work matters.
