It allows us to visualize and quantify blood flow before birth. ๐ Doppler ultrasound gated 4D flow CMR with ๐ด๐ฎ๐ข๐ณ๐ต-๐ด๐บ๐ฏ๐ค can provide reliable hemodynamic measurements in late gestation fetuses, including flow in the aorta, pulmonary artery, ductus arteriosus and descending aorta [1]. 4D flow MRI can visualize physiological information without contrast, anesthesia or complex offline reconstruction [3]. It can also add diagnostic information and reveal relevant findings before birth, especially in congenital heart disease [2]. ๐ 4D flow is a complement to fetal echocardiography. Not replacing it, but adding a new layer of functional information to prenatal cardiovascular assessment. ๐ซ๐ถ ๐ From โWhat does it look like?โ to โHow does it flow?โ ๐ ๐ฝ๏ธ The 4D flow video was provided from Alex Barker from Children's Hospital Colorado [1] Englund et al., https://lnkd.in/dD_zxt3q [2] Vollbrecht et al., https://lnkd.in/dspnzRWv [3] Gerstner Saucedo et al., https://lnkd.in/drE349M3 #4DFlow #FetalMRI #CardiacMRI #FetalCardiology #CongenitalHeartDisease #MedicalImaging #PrenatalDiagnosis
