Hi I'm Akiko 🐶 🐾 At Northern Trust, we recognize that wellbeing in the workplace can take many forms, including the powerful connection between humans and animals. In celebration of National Pet Day, our Philippines office, in partnership with the employee-led working families business resource council, welcomed guest speaker Michael John Sampaga for an engaging session on the human–animal bond and its impact on workplace wellbeing. Accompanying him was his therapy dog, Akiko, whose presence brought a sense of calm, connection, and positive energy to our team. The session offered meaningful insights into how animals can support emotional wellbeing, reduce stress, and contribute to a more inclusive and compassionate workplace culture.
