I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to present at Gettysburg College’s Celebration of Partnerships, where I shared more about my current internship with YWCA Hanover SafeHome as well as my recent immersion trip to Morocco. Through my internship, I’ve focused on expanding SafeHome’s presence on campus, especially within Greek life, by helping bring conversations about domestic violence awareness, prevention, and available resources into student spaces. This has included supporting outreach efforts, educational programming, and building connections that make these conversations more accessible and impactful for students. I also shared reflections from my immersion trip to Morocco, where I explored how different cultural and social contexts shape understandings of identity, community, and advocacy. Presenting on this work gave me the chance to reflect on how meaningful it is to bridge community organizations with campus life, connecting the college with the surrounding community. I am thankful for these opportunities and for everyone working to create stronger, more informed communities.
