šØ BREAKING: Another global nonwovens major is betting on U.S. manufacturing. Supreme Group Nonwoven Inc., the U.S. arm of India's Supreme Group, just announced a $25.8 million investment to build its first American facility ā a 200,000+ sq ft plant in Lexington, North Carolina. Why it matters š š First-ever U.S. manufacturing footprint for the 40-year-old Indian nonwovens group (founded 1986) š° $25.8M investment, supported by a $100K grant from the One NC Fund š· 50 new jobs coming to Davidson County šÆ Will serve U.S. apparel, automotive, filtration and industrial customers ā with local technical collaboration and faster turnaround The bigger story: North Carolina keeps winning these deals. It's already home to the largest concentration of nonwoven companies and the second-largest textile manufacturing workforce in the U.S. ā and global players are clearly choosing to build where the customers, talent and ecosystem already exist. From spunbond lines to filtration media, this is one more data point in the reshoring story nonwovens has been writing for the past few years. š¬ Is this the start of a bigger wave of global nonwoven manufacturers setting up shop in the U.S., or a one-off bet on the Southeast's textile ecosystem?
