I am excited to share that Environmental Economics (3rd edition), by Kolstad and Netusil, has been published by Oxford University Press: https://lnkd.in/gafAe8Hc I have used this text since it first appeared in 2000, and I was truly honored when Charles Kolstad asked me to join as a contributing author for this new edition. It was a joyful process! Sharing this on Earth Day feels especially meaningful, given the important role that environmental economics plays in shaping policies that address climate change and other pressing environmental challenges.   My journey as an environmental economist began at Allegheny College , where I was inspired by classes taught by Ahmed Hussen and Steve Casler. My interest in the field was further shaped in graduate school at UIUC, where I took classes in environmental and natural resource economics with John Braden and Charles Kolstad.   Many people contributed to the textbook update, and I am grateful for their support. Special thanks to the Reed College students who directly assisted with the revision, including Alyssa Bradley, Charles Bentley, Emma Benson , and Samir Ashford (pictured, with Charlie joining our celebration), and to Jonah Danzinger at UCSB who updated the solutions manual. I am grateful to Marty Ringle for his encouragement and support; to my colleagues in Economics and Environmental Studies at Reed; to the remarkable staff at Reed, who truly went above and beyond; to the many professional colleagues who provided advice along the way; and to the Oxford University Press staff who provided expert guidance. Most of all, I am grateful to my students, who inspire me every day!
