Today, we officially opened our new fully electrified salt production plant based on mechanical vapor recompression (MVR) technology in Mariager and at the same time marked 60 years of salt production at the site. The new installation increases production capacity by roughly 60% per year, while significantly reducing energy use and CO₂ emissions. By using electricity instead of gas and reusing energy within the process, it represents an important step in how we produce salt, more efficiently and with greater flexibility. In the presence of Mayor Jesper Skov Mikkelsen of Mariagerfjord Municipality and Michael Koenig, CEO of Nobian, the opening was celebrated together with the local community, partners and colleagues. As Michael Koenig put it: “Today, we celebrate both 60 years of salt production in Mariager and a major step forward in electrified production. Together, these two milestones show how continuity and transformation go hand in hand and reflect our strong connection with the local community.” A big thank you to everyone involved, from project teams and partners to the municipality and the community, for making this milestone possible.
