Last week, during Process Technology Week in the east of the Netherlands, our colleagues from our site in Hengelo hosted workshops on salt for high-school students.   As part of the event, organized by Process Your Future - Praktijkcentrum voor Procestechnologie Oost-Nederland (PCPT), students were introduced to the science behind salt from its extraction to its role as a key raw material in many everyday products. Through hands-on activities, they gained practical insight into process technology and saw how chemistry and engineering come together in real industrial processes.   Salt may seem simple, but it is essential to countless applications, from food and pharmaceuticals to sustainable solutions such as water treatment and energy storage. By connecting classroom theory to real-world technology, the workshops helped make these concepts tangible and relevant.   The event was a great opportunity to inspire curiosity, show the impact of industrial chemistry, and encourage young talent to explore careers in technology and manufacturing.
