At Create the Future 2026, experts from COPS/Reduta Solutions explored how AI and simulation are transforming public decision-making — together with Henriette Mansell, Marjolein ten Haaft and Don Fontijn (nlmtd). The challenge is clear: the Netherlands aims to be gas-free by 2050, yet at the current pace, we won’t get there until 2090. This doesn’t call for more policy — it calls for a new way of working. By combining energy data, grid information and spatial data into one platform, municipalities can move from static plans to real-time, scenario-driven decision-making. What used to take weeks can now be done in hours — with all stakeholders working from the same source of truth. The real shift? From isolated analysis to collective action.
