We are proud to have produced and delivered the world’s first reusable 400 kV temporary cable solution to German transmission system operator Amprion GmbH, supporting their ongoing grid upgrade works while helping reduce material waste and improve project efficiency. The modular and pluggable HVAC cable system enables power flow to continue during construction and reconfiguration of high-voltage substations. Once the temporary solution is no longer needed, it can be disconnected, stored and redeployed in future projects. Developed in close collaboration with Amprion GmbH and based on a specification jointly established by four German TSOs, the solution introduces a more scalable and resource-efficient approach to temporary cable systems at extra-high-voltage level. A strong example of how customer-focused innovation can support the modernisation of Europe’s power grids and the energy transition.
