Excited to share a major milestone in robotics and AI-driven plant maintenance through a strategic collaboration between Shell and Yokogawa! This partnership is transforming how industrial facilities are monitored and maintained by integrating Shell’s advanced machine vision solution, Operator Round by Exception (ORE), into Yokogawa’s robotics platform. ORE is a digital innovation that leverages machine vision and AI analytics to enable robots to autonomously perform key operator round tasks—such as reading gauges, detecting leaks, and identifying machinery issues, enhancing both safety and operational efficiency. This marks the first major step in our joint journey at the Energy Transition Campus Amsterdam, a hub for innovation and collaboration toward a more sustainable energy future. Shell and Yokogawa are also aligning on a shared R&D roadmap to continuously evolve this technology—an inspiring example of Open Innovation and Co-Innovation in action. Kudos to our incredible teams and partners for leading the way! Urvashi Rana, Giannandrea Abbate, PhD, MBA, Swetha Sekar, Ahmed Hussein, Joris van den Burg, Regis Assao, Maria C.
