Balasubramaniam, Member, NITI Aayog, highlights how the Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY) is helping strengthen India’s formal workforce by supporting both first-time employees and job-creating enterprises. The article underscores that beyond providing employment incentives, PM-VBRY aims to facilitate long-term workforce participation through formal employment, social security coverage, skill development, and financial inclusion. By encouraging formal hiring and supporting employers in expanding their workforce, the scheme seeks to create more than 3.5 crore formal jobs over two years.
