National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), in collaboration with the GGGI India, successfully convened a closed-door stakeholder consultation on the proposed 𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 (𝐑-𝐂𝐨𝐄) 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐈𝐒𝐄 campus, Gurugram. The consultation brought together a diverse group of leading institutions and experts from across the solar ecosystem, including International Solar Alliance (ISA), Centre for Social and Economic Progress, The Nature Conservancy, TERI - The Energy and Resources Institute, FICCI, NTPC Green Energy Limited, Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited, 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲 (CSTEP), among others. The session focused on 𝐜𝐨-𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑-𝐂𝐨𝐄, envisioned as a national digital platform for: 𝐂𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚-𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲, 𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐚, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 Participants shared valuable insights on training priorities, knowledge gaps, platform usability, and institutional frameworks, contributing to a more grounded and implementation-oriented design of the R-CoE. The discussion reaffirmed the importance of moving beyond capacity addition towards capability development, ensuring that India’s solar growth is supported by robust knowledge systems, skilled human resources, and effective stakeholder collaboration. NISE and GGGI will take forward these inputs towards refining the R-CoE framework and developing pilot modules, as part of its continued efforts to strengthen India’s solar ecosystem.
