Integrating national and international data sets on water bodies, bathymetry, solar resource availability, infrastructure proximity, and technical suitability, the study has revealed an estimated š š„šØššš¢š§š ššØš„šš« šš ššØššš§šš¢šš„ šØš ššš.šš šš across suitable water bodies in the country. The assessment has been carried out by the Solar Energy Research and Analytics Laboratory, NISE, under the guidance of Dr. Mohammad Rihan, Director General, NISE. The study was contributed by Dr. Jai Prakash Singh, Deputy Director General, Dr Anish Malan, Deputy Director, and Dr. Sandeep Kumar Singh, Senior Project Engineer, who developed the geospatial methodology, data integration framework, analytics, and nationwide assessment process. The report provides an evidence-based resource for policymakers, state agencies, developers, investors, researchers, and other stakeholders to support strategic planning and accelerated deployment of floating solar projects across India. It also highlights the role of floating solar as a sustainable complement to ground-mounted solar installations, contributing to optimal land use, water conservation, grid integration, and achievement of India's clean energy targets. The release of this report marks a significant milestone in India's renewable energy journey and reinforces NISE's commitment to supporting national energy planning through scientific research, innovation, and technical excellence. š Access the Report: https://lnkd.in/g2M9Pz4C #FloatingSolar #SolarEnergy #RenewableEnergy #EnergyTransition #CleanEnergy #Sustainability #EnergySecurity #ViksitBharat #AtmanirbharBharat #Innovation #FloatingSolarPotential
