'Professor Richard Scolyer AO (1966–2026) was a world-renowned Australian pathologist and 2024 Australian of the Year. He revolutionized melanoma treatment. After his own glioblastoma diagnosis in 2023, he courageously became 'patient zero' for a world-first experimental immunotherapy, dedicating his final years to advancing brain cancer research.'
