Making βYOUβ walk into rooms already known| Monetizing global personal brands on LinkedIn from Dubai β Detroit
LinkedIn wants you to be stupid. Stupidly fun. Stupidly relatable. Stupidly honest. I resisted that for a long time. I thought LinkedIn rewarded polished insights, neat frameworks, and posts that made people think, "Wow, that's professional." Then I posted something stupid. My client's wife thinking I was his therapist - stupid. LinkedIn slowly turning into Tinder - stupid. Feeling like a maniac after deleting 400 connections - stupid. Every one of those posts outperformed my "smart" content. Because smart content makes people think. Stupid content makes people feel. And feelings stop the scroll, earn the tag, spark the comment, and lead to the 11 p.m. DM that says: "This is literally me." The truth is, LinkedIn is a room full of slightly bored, very online people looking to feel something before their next meeting. Give them that. Stupid works. Embrace it.
