We’re speaking to Xavier Pick, a British war artist who has documented everyday of his life for the past 35 years in sketchbooks. In this episode we talk about his origins in art, how his experiences have contributed to what he creates, the experience of touring with the army in Iraq, his research into terrorism and why keeping a sketchbook journal would be an amazing thing to do for everyone. Journaling has had a very positive impact on my life. It’s almost like every entry is a letter to my future self and whenever I do get around to reading old entries, there’s always a sense of growth, which is what being human is fundamentally about.
