8/7/26 🇺🇬 Day Five Reflection – The Power of Teamwork Yesterday was a bit of a reality check. Working as a team takes more than technical ability—it takes trust, communication and the willingness to understand one another. It takes time to build rapport. I genuinely feel fortunate to be working with a team that complements each other so well. We each bring different strengths, and together we’ve created a partnership I couldn’t have asked for. Every day our playground grows a little more, and with it comes an incredible sense of achievement. Seeing ideas become reality is almost becoming addictive! One of my favourite parts of each day is our evening debrief. Every team shares their highlights, challenges and reflections, and you can genuinely hear the pride in everyone’s voices. It’s inspiring to watch not only our projects develop, but also to see the growth in every individual and every team. This experience is proving that the greatest outcomes don’t come from working alone—they come from people with different skills, backgrounds and perspectives coming together with a shared purpose. A huge thank you once again to Mian Ng , Nathan and the entire New Dawn International team, University of the West of England Bristol, the students from Makerere University University, and everyone from the other participating universities. Your collaboration, encouragement and passion have made this an unforgettable experience. You probably know the pattern by now… James Ford #UWEBristol #UgandaProject #NewDawnInternational #MakerereUniversity #Teamwork #EngineeringForGood #InclusivePlay #HumanCentredDesign #DisabilityInclusion #CommunityEngagement #SocialImpact #InterdisciplinaryCollaboration #GlobalLearning #StudentExperience #Collaboration #Engineering #PlayMatters
