TEDx Speaker | Helping leaders & organisations build resilient, psychologically safe cultures through trauma-informed leadership & behavioural insight | Founder, Brainworks Therapy | G100 Birmingham Chair
After my visit to Pencoed Comprehensive School, Edward Jones sent me a message that has stayed with me ever since. He shared a quote from Archbishop Desmond Tutu: “There comes a point where we need to stop just pulling people out of the river. We need to go upstream and find out why they’re falling in.” He added: “If we can build aspirational language and belief setting into our everyday work then we are moving upstream.” That captures exactly why I do this work. Whether I’m speaking with young people in a classroom or leaders in a boardroom, the question is the same: are we only responding to what we see today, or are we shaping what people become tomorrow? What do you wish someone had told you at 16? #TraumaInformedLeadership #FutureLeadership #GoUpstream Shelley Davies Edward Jones Thank you to all those who contributed to Going upstream Parisa Pirooz, MA, JD Sukanya Nallaiah Matthew Inniss Nathan Martin Charlotte Giddings Ruby Raut Simon Gordon
