In the ’80’s, Alec went on to form his own band called Umoja and as the first black South African to have a privately-owned studio, established himself as a multi-platinum selling solo artist, during the same period.  To this day, Om Alec Khaoli continues producing timeless music and his legacy and mastery of his craft can be heard and enjoyed on numerous Vinyl, CD and Digital offerings.
