Ready to kick of your week with some inspiring news from the Dutch Life Sciences ecosystem? š³š±ā¤ļø Who helps to turn academic discoveries into innovation? That's the common theme for these three recent news items I found and wanted to share: š First of all congratulations to MimeCure from University of Groningen and their innovators Luke van der Koog and Erik (H.W.) Frijlink and their team for their ā¬3 million funding round. Current treatmant in pulmonary fibrosis focus on delaying deterioration but MimeCure is developing an inhaled regenerative therapy that would activate lung repair naturally: restoration > deterioration! š Next up are no less than 5 of our university medical centers combined! 1. Amsterdam UMC 2. Leiden University Medical Center 3. UMC Utrecht 4. Radboudumc 5. UMCG With all their powers combined they areee... drum roll: InFECT-TT! A new program under umbrella organization InFECT-NL which brings ā¬7 million in funding to accelerate valorization of infection disease innovations! š And finally, we have Ditto that received ā¬7.6 million from Heal Capital, Rubio Impact Ventures, and Optiverder! Founders Tobias Polak, Bart Voorn, and Merlijn van Breugel set out on a mission to create a healthtech solution to help people make sense of a healtcare systyem that isnt exactly getting any simpler. Of course good luck but with almost 100K users already, I think they'll be making a global impact soon! Did you come across a story to cover next? #innovation #lifesciencesNL #biotech #healthtech
